Goals and Evidence
This is where we lay out the design goals of the inquiry. We also briefly outline the evidence we used to check if the goals were accomplished.
Stellar Population Inquiry Activity Outline
This is the main part of the website, with an outline of the activity and links to all the pages in said outline.
Stellar Populations Inquiry Poster
This is a poster describing the inquiry.
This is an inquiry activity for either senior high school and freshman college students.
The main difference is the use of logarithms and the depth of content gained in the activity.
It is important to remind the user of this inquiry that it was designed to follow another inquiry, called Color, Light, and Spectra. If teaching this inquiry without that inquiry, the content of that inquiry needs to be taught to the students. In addition, we don't recommend this being the student's first inquiry activity.
Remember to close the sidebar on the right (little arrow at the top right side), as this page is optimized for viewing without the sidebar.
Lots of people have worked on this inquiry at different times.
